interior design

1 | a cohesive design service

In many instances our design work is not just limited to the buildings we work on but can extend to the interior and, on non-residential work even graphic design, to provide a cohesive ‘company image’. New buildings often incorporate much of the interior design as a consequence of the architectural process however we can provide a dedicated interior design service as an ‘add on’ to our core architectural commission to provide the finishing touches to any project with colour schemes, lighting, environmental controls, multi-media, soft furnishings, artwork, and furniture by using either proprietary products and ranges or by designing bespoke solutions. This is commonplace with offices, care homes, student accommodation, college/university projects and even private residential projects, particularly those of a more contemporary nature.

2 | working in partnership

Alternatively we are able to provide a totally independent interior design service to transform the interior of an existing established building to give it a ‘make over’ or to take a space from ‘shell’ to a finished environment. This can be a bespoke design or can be the application of a predefined ‘corporate image’ and we have significant experience of both approaches. For example, we have carried out interior refits to chains of high street banks and retail premises. We have also designed and managed the fit-out of many retail premises in major shopping centers throughout the UK for new retail clients and office/showrooms for motor car manufacturers.

3 | getting the mood right

Apart form the more obvious interior design work we are able to design and manage the fabrication of one off displays for major exhibitions, trade shows, conferences and the like. In all cases we work very closely with the client to determine the type of environment and ‘feel’ they wish to create before preparing ‘mood boards’ and high quality 3D interior images using the latest computer software to convey alternative design solutions. Our design approach not only responds to the clients aspirations but also takes into account the need for DDA compliance where appropriate, cots, maintenance and durability. As with architectural commissions, once we have established the concept design we can offer a full or partial service tailored to suit the individual needs of the client to assist in the delivery of the finished project.
