Burgess And Leigh (Middleport Pottery)

Our sounding partner Absalom Wood designed this pottery factory for his friends Burgess and Leigh. It was innovative at the time, boasting indoor flushing WCs for the workers. Today the remaining parts of the factory have been preserved and repurposed and it is the filming location for BBC’s ‘Great Pottery Throwdown’. Grade 2* listed
