‘Kessock’ on Lake Windermere

Undertaken essentially as a client ‘self build’ this impressive split level holiday home is the result of the refurbishment of, and extension to, an existing, modest and run down bungalow. The property occupies an extremely steep site on the edge of Windermere which brought its own problems in terms of providing practical and safe vehicular access. However, the slope also resulted in benefits too by allowing the GF ‘undercroft’ to be extended into the hillside to create additional sleeping accommodation at the lower ground floor level.
